FASHION SPRING TRENDS 2013

Hi! We are Júlia and Berta. We are going to introduce and explain to you the most important spring trends of this year as seen in our class.
This spring, the colours for women are white, orange and brocade. Also, white and black combinations, and metallic and plastic colours. Talking about patterns, there are floral, bird, camouflage and border prints. The most prominent style are the 60’s, retro, bohemian and sheer clothing.

On the other hand, for men  the most used colours are blue, yellow and brocade. It’s common to wear motorcycle jackets and, like women, patterns (especially, stripes) and camouflage prints too.

For boys and girls the most common shoes are Munich brand or booties.
In our class,  people are quite fashionable but the majority, are not wearing “chic” clothes there because we are in the high school and it’s not appropriate to wear that kind of clothing.

Famous people of Catalonia

In Catalonia, as in other countries of the world, there are a lot of famous people. This is mainly because a lot of famous people love  living  in Barcelona, even if it’s for a short period of the year.
The famous people have different jobs: There are famous singers, actors, writters, politics, and sports players like football players, and tennis players etc
Nowadays if someone goes to Barcelona city centre  you have a good chance to meet  someone famous.

There are a lot of celebrities in Catalonia, and some of them are groups of singers Lax’n Busto, Txarango, Amèlie and others. Lax’n Busto is one of the most popular groups in Catalonia because people like catalan rock.
Some famous catalan actors are Àlex Monner, Mireia Vilapuig, Nil Cardoner and others who  act in the catalan TV series “Polseres vermelles”.
The director of this series is Albert Espinosa (who is shown in the picture). This writer is very successful among teenagers, who love his books because he writes about different illnesses.  One of his books is about teenegers that suffer cancer.
Many sports players are also famous in Catalonia, mainly because Barça is one of the best football teams in the world. We have some sports players like Leo Messi, Puyol, etc.  And the  famous tennis player Rafa Nadal is also Catalan.
On the one hand, we can see that in the last years a lot of Catalan people are becoming very well-known around the world due to their sucess in their professional lives.
But on the other hand the catalan politicians are getting known all over the world due to the economic crisis in Spain that is shown every day in the news and newspapers in other countries.

-Plan Oculto
-El señor de la guerra
-To fast to fourius

POP-POLLUTION

The pollution in our planet has always existed.  Until now we have not  learned to respect the planet we have damaged it in all  possible ways.
Before there wasn't much pollution because the factories didn't exist and there weren't that many cars, aerosol and all this type of products.  The pollution is the result of a consumerist society.
We have to become aware of what contaminates the atmosphere and take action in our daily lives to contribute to sustaining the environment.

Taking care of the atmosphere is something vital to conserve our existence and the other beings, in good conditions of health and harmony.

It´s very important, if we don´t stop it, we will pay the consequences.

We surveyed the class and to find out who recycles in class and how they come to school, means of transport:

64 % of our class recycle.

60% of ow class comes walking.
10% of ow class comes by motorbike.
10% of ow class comes by bus.
10% of ow class comes by car.
7% of ow class comes by bicycle.

It seems that our class doesn't pollute and cares about the environment.

Stereotypes

In the northern countries of Europe, Spanish people are often seen as lazy. In England, it is said that the Spanish people are always having fun, drinking, sleeping and that we don't like to work.

But on the other hand, the northern contries have a similar opinion about all the southern European countries. They love our sun and our food, and it is said that Spanish women are beautiful.

Ironically, the worst opinions about us come from our neighbours in the southern Europe. Italians say that Spanish people are dirty and that the men are ugly. But all these stereotypes are more humoristic than real.

In conclution, when people get to know us they change their opinion and they consider us friendly and cheerful.

The radio most listened to by our class.

We just asked some people in class what was their favourite radio station. The radio station that was more popular is Flaix FM.

Flaix Fm is a Spanish private radio, is heard in all Catalunya and in Andorra too.

It is characterized by a Catalan music radio where they play the lastest songs of all musical styles.

The link to their official website on the internet is http://www.flaixfm.cat/ .

Social networks

Nowadays, social networking services are used by millions of people around the world. Young people are the most common users of these networks which are making our way of keeping in touch with friends, relatives and also with strangers, easier. We asked to the students in our class if they were users of any social network and which one they prefered. The result was surprising. The majority of them are users of a social network and some students use more than one. You must have heard about some of them for sure.

Facebook is the most popular network between the students in the class. Initially, Mark Zuckerberg created it as a website for the students of Harvard University. But now it is opened to all the people who have Internet and an email account. Users can create their profiles adding photographies, a list of personal interests, contact information and other personal information. They can also communicate with friends and other users through private or public messages.

Tuenti is very similar to Facebook and was created in Spain in 2006 by Félix Ruiz, Zaryn Dentzel, Kenny Bentley, Adeyemi Ajao and Joaquín Ayuso de Pául. It is adressed to students and young people. Tuenti, pronounced in Spanish, sounds like Twenty in English. The name, however, actually comes from "tu enti[dad]," meaning  "your identity because you can set up a profile, upload photos, link videos, connect with friends and talk by chat application. This social network is very popular in Spain but not much in Catalonia and only a few students in the class have a profile in it.

Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey. It’s an online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based messages of up to 140 characters, known as "tweets". Some of the keywords to use and understand this page are "Trending Topic" and "Hashtag". A Hashtag is a word or a phrase prefixed with the symbol #, it is also used informally to express context around a given message and a Trending Topic is a word, phrase or topic thar has been searched and published many times around the world in a short period of time. People in twitter usually don't know each other and it's becoming very popular.

Apart from these networks there are other new services that allow us to communicate, be entretained and have some fun. Some services are very new but they are spreading quickly between young people like us.

WhatsApp Messenger is an application for smartphones. In addition to text messaging, users can send each other images, video, and audio media messages. This app is free during the first year, after it you have to pay 0’99 euros a year. Some people don’t want to pay it and look fot others alternatives.

Line is another application with the same options as Whatsapp, the difference is that it is new and free nowadays. Almost everybody in our class has Whatsapp installed but maybe in some years Line will become the most used.

If you've got an smarphone, you can also download Instagram, an online photo-sharing and social networking service which was created in 2010. It enables its users to take pictures, apply digital filters to the photos and share them on Facebook or Twitter. Many students enjoy taking photos and sharing them with friends.

Skype is a service and a software application that allows users to communicate by voice using a microphone, by video using a webcam, and instant messaging over the Internet. Now is an application very used for people to talk with friends or family when they're far away and even it's used to do jobs interviews.

Spotify is a new digital music service that enables to listen different songs on various record labels, share them with friends, create lists of music and follow your friends from a laptop, smartphone or other device.
Asking our classmates we have discovered these different and interesting services, so... if we had asked more people what would we have discovered?
